My fish have ich so I just bought an isolation tank. here is what I have
1 PB tang
2 clowns
1 leopard wrasse
2 firefish
1 blue tang
40 gallon top fin open glass aquarium (should I get a lid?)
PF75 power filter top fin (is this sufficient?)
Interpet Life thermal 50 gallon submersible aquarium heater (I think this is good)
the treatment I'm using is Fritz copper safe. (I think it should work but not 100% sure)
What should I aim for my copper levels to be?

Also IDK what to do with my display tank it has rock, sand, and a shrimp. Do I leave it alone for the 6 week treatment?

I'm sorry, I don't run a QT and haven't done any meds like copper before. Hopefully one of the reefmedics will respond for you. But I think if you look at the pinned messages at the top of the disease forum you might find the protocols for using copper.

A lid never hurts. Assure the salinity and ph matches that of display tank. Oxygen is an important factor, so add an air stone and Monitor ammonia level with a reliable test kit. Coppersafe level which you want 2.25 should be monitored with a test kit such as Hanna Brand and not by drops. Run the copper for a full 30 days and allow the display tank to be without fish for at least 6 weeks to assure any parasites have died off without a host fish.
Coral and inverts are safe to remain in display tank

Yup, it needs to run without fish.
I did not increase temp so I went 72 days to be very sure, they were gone.

More is better in this case.

Wouldn’t it be best to raise temps to 84 and accelerate the life cycle? Still go 72 but now you’d give yourself a buffer and play it more safe than razor edge.

I know temps don’t kill it. Just moving the process along. Fish won’t mind.
