Imo I think a royal gramma would be ok. As for the food I don't have much experience with fish eggs but marine cuisine is a crowd pleaser. Brine shrimp is good to have on hand but wouldn't rely too heavily on it. With the fish you have I think marine cuisine, tdo pellets and maybe some mysis shrimp would be a good mix, with brine shrimp sprinkled in. My clowns have a similar diet and they are getting beefy
So my sister has a degree in animal science and also is going into vet school. During that time she took many hours of feed sciences. I asked her opinion this morning and she said that as it relates strictly to nutrition of the animal, the best option would be 1/2 mysis, 1/4 brine and 1/4 eggs. That would provide a significant source of protein, fat and fiber to the animals. I’m curious if anyone has any thoughts or opinions on that line of thinking. I’m here to learn so throw anything you might have this way

Can I test for that to see if it’s an issue?
It's hard to test for everything that's in tap water. You can ask for a water report if it's municipleveater. However, you can buy a portable rodi unit for under $100 and just hook it to a faucet to make water as needed. Look up AQUATICLIFE Water Filtration System https://a.co/d/a1oWGZW

I do have a question on my skimmer though, why does it fill the cup so fast even if I have it set as dry as possible
Could be in too deep of water . Adjust the water level .
or just a break in which can take a little time .
what skimmer ?
Do you know the depth it’s supposed to be in and what it’s currently set at ?

Most often running it turned down with the lid off and letting it overflow once it’s through the break in and has a layer of bacteria inside it will settle and operate properly
