So I bought a pair of jebao scp-150 gyre pumps after a couple wav pumps died and there were no replacements available. Neither pump will hold its position. Meaning, as it pumps the body starts rotating until the cable boss hits the magnet base, at which point it holds. This position isn’t perfect for me as I have to place the pumps a little lower in the tank instead of almost at the top due to splashing. So, how does one tighten the pump to the magnet base so that it will stay wherever you aim it? I have very little vision and can’t figure it out by feel. I use an ai app on my phone to read the instructions but the app isn’t working well with the poorly printed/written instruction card. It seems odd to me that they move so freely in the magnet base. Any pointers are appreciated. Keep in mind that I can’t see pictures, graphs, etc…so just a description of what to look for (ie screws on the ends, something I should twist to tighten, a tab or something I have to depress to lock) as I can’t figure t out for the life of me. Thanks

Bumpity bump
Have you tried to flip the gyre 180 degrees in the holder?

It can be reassembled, two different ways.

If not, you may be able to tighten the holder with a elastic band squeezing inward.

Also, can you swap the two gyres, ie, pull off one and put it on the other side and vs versa.

of course, should not be moving freely, none of mine do.

I haven’t tried flipping the pump, I’ll give that a shot tomorrow. The band idea makes sense, although one shouldn’t need to do that. The pumps are only at 50% power. Thank you for your advice. Hopefully it will work.

Good luck.
Also a piece of rubber between the motor and the clip.

Your right, should not have to do this.

I have 8 of them, 2 do that same thing.

The gyres have a rubber grommet piece on the end of each side. That rubber piece then goes into the hooks on the magnet frame. Then there are plastic endcaps that snap on the ends of that to hold it there. There are two slots in the plastic end caps and they have to be lined up to snap on. Maybe they aren't lined up correctly? So it goes: end of each side of gyre to rubber grommets on the end to then put in frame then snap plastic end caps on the outside of that to hold it together. Hope this kind of makes sense. Hard to articulate

Articulated just fine, makes perfect sense. I never took them apart and just plopped them in the tank and ran them. I’ll be pulling them out and checking things out tomorrow. Thank you
