I have a vivid confetti I grew from 1/2 inch about 3 years back. It is primarily red in color.

Any suggestion on bringing out color on vivid confetti?

Is it par or certain trace elements in your experience?

Any insight is appreciated.

I doubt it’s a trace element issue.

The stronger the light, the better the coloration IMO.

New growth tends to have better colors, so keep flow high and parameters proper. You can also play around with different foods and see which ones your acro responds to best.

Also, nutrients may be at play here also.
What are your readings?

My nutrients are actually quite stable.
NO3 is at 0 while I do dose Ammonium Bicarbonate.
PO4 is testing around 0.03 to 0.06 levels with Hanna weekly.

I have a PC rainbow on the other side of my tank at the same level and it is more red also.
I have actually lowered my par levels to try to get my PC rainbow show different colors.

I am not sure if higher par will bring out more color on vivid confetti. I should cut a piece off and glue higher up in the tank.

I have my vivids under high par and high flow, colors are pretty awesome imo. 350 par, bad photo.

I have my pc rainbow under lower par and high flow, this results in more yellow/greens. Higher par gets more red. 250 par.

I think there are other factors to color, so I'll list those
using reefbreeders photon v2+ @ 70/70/70/15/14 (RB/CB/V/R/G)
dosing trace via Reef moonshiners
alk 8.5
po4 0.08
no3 10-15

Thank you very much for taking time to post pictures of both vivid and pc rainbow.
I love how you share your blue light ratio as well! I try to mimic the AB+ schedule.

I will break a chunk of my vivid and move it up more directly under my light and more flow.

Will let you know after a month or so.
