How often should you test for calcium, magnesium and kh (alkalinity)?

I was testing those 3 weekly to compare to my Trident.
After reading posts here from Randy Holmes Farley where he says Ca moves slowly and recommends not even testing Mg I have decided to only test those three when I change to new Trident reagents. For what I paid for the Trident, I may as well trust it. So far, so good.
I test Nitrate and Phosphate weekly.
