I was moving some frags around and impulsively scraped all the coralline algae off my back glass.. Tanks been up since New Years but only started dosing a few months ago. Currently dosing 32ml of AFR daily. Should I proactively reduce the dosage or will I be safe to test and adjust throughout the week?

I would keep the level of dose steady and measure daily and then adjust, if needed. The coralline might just keep pulling alkalinity from the water and grow where it fell, unless you cleaned it up and removed it from the tank?

If the Alk does bump up a bit then adjust the dose. This way you don't add too many changes at once or just go dosing blindly.

I did try to siphon out as much as I could. With my current dosage my alk is pretty steady around 8.5 so I guess I have some wiggle room if it were to rise

Coralline algae in 7 months !!! that’s impressive. Some people can’t get it to grow at all, I’m just starting to get some on the side glass of a tank that’s been running for almost 2 years

As soon as I started dosing it really took off. Coral growth in general has been so much faster. Got into the hobby listening to people saying you can replenish enough through water changes but my 15G low tech system has been up for a little over a year now and growth is nowhere near as fast as my 65G, stability really is key
