How loud are pistol shrimp?

Our tank is in the main living room of our house where we hang out most of the time, watch movies, tv, etc. is a pistol shrimp snapping loud enough to be an annoyance?

I believe so! Got one and about twice a day you’ll hear half a dozen “snaps”.

I have only ever heard mine snap a couple of times! Is there anything that causes them to do this? I know one time I accidentally touched where he was and it scared the crap out of me!
