Yeah and at first starting out in this hobby we thought we trusted our LFS to just float and place the fish in the DT. Now after losing all the fish we just want to take precautions from now on and just place them in the QT tank for observation purposes and if they do show something then we would medicate for what ever they may have.Yes Marine velvet is very scary stuff. 20 years ago it was very rare, now unfortunately it has become more common place in the aquarium trade. Ich has changed significantly in the last 20 years too. All of the years of people's trying to beat them with different treatments, unsuccessully has resulted in some very nasty treatment resistant variations. Quarantine (with proper protocols) is the only insurance available. Happy reefing!
