How do you set-up your RODI reservoir? What do you do with the Wastewater?

I have a rudimentary system as of now, currently the clean-blue line goes to the bucket and black-hose down the drain.

Though over the years this has become a bit tiresome--I've forgot to turn it off more than I'd like to admit and have wasted hundreds of gallons of waste-water that I could have used for the garden.

I'm basically looking to bounce ideas off, was considering something like this:

Elevated with a ball-valve. I keep planted-cichlid tanks as well so it wouldn't be for mixing.

Though the waste-water issue I still have trouble with.

How do you do it? What has worked for you over the years?

Waste water down the drain and a float valve on rodi container so no overfill. That container would work but unless you add some type of shut off device it will still overflow it will just take longer ;)
Edit: I wonder if that tank could be sealed air tight after running your hose to it. If so it may not over flow since there is little to no pressure coming out of the rodi unit :thinking-face:

I use waste water for plants. You can also drink it. "Waste" is a misnomer in my opinion since its just water treated through a sediment filter and a carbon filter.

Hmm, my waste water also goes into the drain. Would be amazing if someone found a way so it could go into my sprinklers and water my lawn :D

RO/DI product right into 32 gallon Brute for storage,,, ball valve/nozzle near bottom to dispense as needed. (Pretty common, I think)

Waste water -- I just throw a long line on the lawn or into planters while making water. (My RO/DI unit is in the garage right next to garage car door near the lawn anyway, though)
