Actually, I have never seen (ever) an instance of a vermatid snail's web irritating a coral.Their mucus webs irritate corals and they stop extending polyps or recede. They are horrible.

I have seen coral grow around them and have seen vermatid's plant themselves in dead spots of colonies or in their skeletons.
I have had the same reef for ~20 years. Plenty of them have come and gone, same with Asterinas, spirodbids, various tunicates, and stomatella… all things on the “ohh my good it kills coral” list that never actually bother coral.Next time I have a tank that has Vermatids, ill
