My lfs has been in business for years so the uglies are long gone. Sometimes they are unavoidable and really bad I mean look at some of the tanks at Petco stores. It’s all about care and maintenance of the tanks and filtration. Most tanks are connected at most fish stores and it helps keep everything stable by having a large volume of water and extremely large filtration. No tank is perfect but you don’t often see anything ugly or unkept in local fish stores because they don’t want you to.
