Is this a ricordea that came with my cyphastrea frag? Will it bother the cyphastrea?

It could. Can you shave it off with a scalpel or box knife?
I have discomas show up in odd places and I have a hairy mushroom that somehow keeps fragging itself. I remove them and put them where I want them.

I will try to scrape it off. Are ricordea invasive at all like palys, GSP, etc? Or would it be worthwhile to re-home the hitchhiker on a different rock?

I don't think that is a ricordea. Looks more like a majano. I would remove it from the tank.

Not like GSP. I find they don’t grow as fast as discos and my ricordias don’t crawl the tank like discos will. I have an Ironman disco that has lived in 6 different spots. It crawls around like a nem. It rode a cerith snail for weeks. Lol

Ricordeas split by pinching, like candy canes so they stay in the same area. If they are healthy they split pretty slowly. Stressed out they will split faster it seems.

I could be. My eyes aren’t what they used to be. Now that I zoom in it does look nem like.
