Hitchhiker ID possibly a Sphaeromatid isopod?

Found this guy while doing maintenance today, doing so research I believe that it's a Sphaeromatid isopod, can anyone confirm if that's correct and he's reef safe? 20241009_180613.jpg 20241009_180643.jpg

Pretty sure the eyes are on the side, I couldn't find any other pictures of them this color but it did roll up when I took it out of the water. Thanks for the help!

Haha, yeah that's a male Sphaeromatid isopod - the long "prongs" by the tail (the elongated uropods) are a good way to tell, same with the conglobation (rolling into a ball); the eyes can be a good tell, but some Cirolanids and similar have small eyes as well, so it's not my preferred method of differentiating them. Another way is by looking at the underside of the tail - flat = bad; round (domed/vaulted) = good.
