Yes, this is true. Here’s me eating their gross human food (it’s actually delicious, but don’t tell them) while they figured out how to build my crabitat.... is that how you actually made it to your current tank? If so that's quite the journey and quite the surprise for your human caretakers when they got home. Haha.
Hello reefers,
My name is Ghost and I am a tiny marine hermit crab. One day in September I was just minding my own business, sifting Caribbean sand, when some loud divers thought my beautiful shell was empty and took it. Upon returning home and discovering my existence, they promptly set up a 13.5g Fluval with live sand for me to sift and some live rocks for me to climb (though I only learned how to climb a week ago).
They’re pretty sure I am a paguristes sericeus (Blue-eyed hermit crab), but I will never tell them. My shell is 3/4inch long. I have bright blue eyes, a slightly larger right claw, and furry legs. I much prefer the daylight hours to conduct my crab business.
I like to eat mysis shrimp pellets, locally sourced algae & cyanobacteria, the arms of hitchhiker mini brittle stars, strawberry tops, my own molts, and snails that dare enter my reef.
I molted four days after moving in, and then again two weeks later. My human servants tried to assist me with my tank cleaning by getting me some tank mates (2 cerith snails), but little did they know I am a cold-blooded snail killer and I killed them both in 4 days. Any and all occupied shells must be vacated promptly, even if they are 5x the size of mine.
Any advice I can pass on to my human servants as to how they should keep me alive would be really appreciated.

I'm sure you're going to have an awesome new life in your new crabitat and all of the crabby experts here will assist in any way possible!Thank you all for the kind welcome. My servants are new to forums and reefing and need all the help they can get.
