Ok so earlier I posted a question about the viability of using hermit crabs from the Pacific Northwest in a reef tank and wanted to post an update. We got our crab tank to the same specs as our reef tank and they’ve been doing very well along with the snails and clams.
Today is day one! The hermits have been quarantined for a little over a week now and they’re doing great.
We made the decision to only love crabs that had taken a clean new shell we provided them to further eliminate contamination issues. We have 3 that have done so and today we moved one of them to the reef tank. We will monitor him closely but so far he seems to be doing well and the other fish/shrimp/anenomes don’t seem fussed by him
