Questionable decision of the day: I added two rocks I had sitting outside for a year to the 90. I soaked in RODI for 24hrs, hoping I don’t mess stuff up. I want to get them cycled and coralline coated so I can do a major rescape sometime and utilize them.

I did this before. If the rock is porous enough, 2 months and it’s covered in stuff.

Niceee, these are super porous, they are from Fiji, real deal ocean rock. My water looks super clear now! I’m not sure if it’s the new rock but whatever it is, I like it!

Settled on a fish yet?
No :( I can’t decide. Lately I’ve been checking out anthias but eh, idk.
I spent my daily reefing budget on a new wetside for my mp10 which got destroyed by that trochus snail. I hope the dry side is fine... when it happened it shot off the tank and hit the floor. We will see..
I’m still in the market for a lightly used mp40 or 2.
Gotta get my hardware back up to snuff before I spend more on livestock.

Good call. Always good to wait it out. I’m wanting the new MP40s as well. Definitely high on my list

One of these will eat all your SPS in a day. They actually eat the skeleton and poop out sand. Great addition. ;Hilarious
Ah yes very true lol. I believe I’ve seen before, an episode on how beaches are made, on Sesame Street. :)
Very interesting stuff.

That's a humphead wrasse, and they don't eat coral. They eat the same things most fish eat. I believe you're thinking of a parrotfish, and they absolutely eat coral and rocks, and poop sand. Think about that next time you lay on the beach.

Oh my mistake. I totally mistook it for a parrot. It is one ugly fish tho. But beautiful at the same time.

One of My MP40’s hit the floor once so now I have them attached behind the tank. I actually wish I had just gone with some MP10’s bc the MP40’s have to be kept on such a low setting or else sand storm! And the gyres take care of the flow I just wanted a little more across the back.

I actually ordered some lyre tail anthias and a borbonas but he hasn’t found them yet. I’ll give it some time to catch up to the newest inhabitants. What anthias are you considering?

Good idea. Once your acro frags are colonies though the 40’s will be perfect. Your tank is setup for long term success.
Those are the two I’ve been looking at as well but my 90 is a little small for them. Do you know of any that do well in under 100 gal tanks? I don’t know much about them to be honest other than they need frequent feedings of good food.

They get quite large also... I wonder if I can fit one in my 90? Wrasse police?
