Guys
I’ve been dosing triton core7 be for 3 months now and every icp comes back 0 or low on almost all trace so I buy in addition the traces that are of the highest doses needed ( it’s my way of making sense of it, like if you need 15ml of this then as appose to .05 of that I just dose the element that needs the highest dose )
Currently I’m dosing
Iodine ( 0 if I don’t dose)
Manganese
Molybdenum
Vanadium
Strontium ( always low without dosing)
Tomorrow Im supposed to be picking up iron and nickel as they’re next on the list that are big amounts
I just wonder if it’s cheaper and more balanced using afr
I know tons of you are using it so please chime in before I buy more and more traces on top of the costly triton method

Current dosing is 16ml to stabilise at 9.3 , 440 , 1380

Should I make the transition? And what would be the equivalent dose
I believe 1ml per 100 ltr is .2 kh so at that I’m using 1.6kh pd

Thanks

So my iron and nickel arrived and I’m working out the doses but I have used both triton and reef factory for the icps

Triton say the set point on iron is 0 but rf say to dose
With nickel , triton (which I have ) recommends 20ml correction , whereas rf say 6ml of their product

What you think guys?

No notging , it’s based of the icp

Without knowing something about the potency, I cannot recommend a dose. If they give you a dose, I'd just use it.

What they don’t say is the maintenance dose so this’ll be guess work for a few months of icps

Having read this thread I’m not sure my dose of 20ml is correct

my 2nd triton report says...

i need a total of 120.6 mℓ of triton Ni supplement

to supply my entire tank (2411.31 ℓ) with a correction of +5.00 µg/ℓ

_____________________

so i am to correct 5.00 µg/ℓ x 2411.31 ℓ (total system volume) = by adding 12,056.55 µg of Ni

this is the amount contained in 120.6 mℓ of the triton reagent, so its concentration is 12,056.55 µg ÷ 120.6 mℓ = 99.9714 µg/mℓ (rounded to 100 µg/mℓ)

therefore, triton Ni has a concentration of 100 µg/mℓ

______________________

regarding ati's Ni supplement, according to https://atiaquaristik.co.uk/shop/nickel-100ml/, ati's product has a concentration of:

"1 ml of the supplement increases the nickel concentration of 100 litres to 2 µg/l"

as for the conversion, 1 mℓ contains: 100 ℓ x 2 µg/ℓ = 200 µg

therefore, ati Ni has a concentration of 200 µg/mℓ

__________________________

so i to correct my deficiency with ati Ni, i would need to add half the triton additive to achieve the same result (120.6 ÷ 2 = 60.3 mℓ)
__________________________

the current value scorecard is:

triton Ni (US$29 for 100mℓ)
100 µg/ℓ

ati Ni (US$17 for 100mℓ)
200 µg/ℓ
