I just received a blue tip seabae anemone from liveaquaria. He has not been eating as far as I can tell and he seems bleached. What should I do? He moves a bit but his tentacles are short and pulled in. Please help!

Yeah that nem doesn't look happy.
His mouth is wide open that too isn't a good sign.

Thought he was upside down at first.Did he expel his beneficial algae? I would call live aquaria and let them know if he was like that upon arrival.

FWIW Most nems I have received usually look like they're on death's doorstep when they leave the shipping bag. Good acclimation procedures into a QT/potential Rx tank are paramount to receiving nems via mail.

yup, that's typical behavior. I've never had one come out of a bag and look like a million bucks. Check my Cipro sticky in the Nem & Clown forum and I talk about how I usually receive nems and what I look for and expect for more infos.

You could contact live aquaria and see what they say, I know they're really good about taking care of their customers but it actually looks fine in the initial picture.

Yes. It originally looked great and so I wasn't worried at all. This is 36 hours after I opened it up and it wasn't looking so good. I will call them in the morning and ask them what they suggest- I just hope my clowns don't hose it first.

If it looks like it's slimy at all I would remove it Immediately and I hope the clown don't mess with it. Even healthy nems need time to set there foot before they have clownfish trying to host it. Best of luck.

Liveaquaria told me my ph was down by 0.5. I'm rasing it now and I hope that if it dies, they will refund me.

I'm sure reefers in your area may have some bta's for sale or trade or sometimes for free because they can split and are usually fairly common in home reefs.
I'll post on Craigslist

Can we get some general information on the tank before we jump to " you should just order this"? Age, Paramaters, lighting is generally a very good start.

The simple fact that pH is only affected by 2 thing, dKH and CO2 and you went looking for chemicals based on a very very very poor recommendation by Live Aquaria if that is what was said (I would be surprised, but if your pH is 7.2 or something silly low then they should have known they needed more numbers on your end.) It may be a language barrier as it seems like you're trying to do all the right things, but I'm not sure you or your reef is ready for another anemone yet.

Hi,
My Reef tank has been running for 6 years. I have a large carpet anemone and a large rose bulb anemone. I also have a condy in my 10 Gallon. This is the first time something like this has happened.
