Hi there, just new to this. I have a relatively new tank and have a bubble tip coral. He has looked great for a few months now, especially through the summer months. Just last week tho he has started to shrink and isnt even eating prawns which he normally loves. Is there a coral feed that i should be feeding him, where we got him from didnt give us much info.

The first 3 pics are from when he was looking good. But the 2nd 3 pics are him just now.

We also had a starfish that died a few weeks ago.

Any help greatly appreciated or links to items which would help.

You shouldn't have to feed them.

Sounds/looks like you have a water quality issue.

Do you test? Post them up.
Lights? Post it.
Flow? Post it.

Edit:
The way it's reaching for light, it most likely isn't getting enough.

Welcome to Reef2Reef.
how old is your system? I ask because Bubble Tip Anemones are a coral that generally doesn't respond well to tanks are still struggling to find stability which is usually takes the better part of a year.
I don't feed anemones either.

Hi there it was the Aqua one - Aqua Nano fish tank we got which came with a light, heater, filter etc.

I will post pic of the light, not sure if it has enough details on it. I know it isnt the greatest light, we were looking to upgrade it next year.

We were only told to make sure the salt levels were ok once a week and replace 10/20 % of the water once a week.

Bingo.

Your nem won't wait another year.

Upgrade the light now. Research before buying livestock and don't listen to someone that wants your money.

I'm not sure what size tank you actually have but look for a light that can give full spectrum. The one in your hand might do but I would actually add it to the light you actually have if you can rig them on your tank somehow. That should give you plenty of lighting to keep a nem.

It's really hard to put a wattage number to LED lights especially when I don't know the tank size. For comparison I had a 75 gallon tank with a reef breeders fixture that I think run at 230ish Watts of led.

I'm hoping somebody else on here can recommend an actual light for you. I know one that would really be good is a NooPsyche mini. I think it's 60 watts. Probably closer to where you want to be if you want to just use one light. There is lots of options on Amazon too that are probably cheaper than your lfs.
