Hello,

Was hoping someone could help identify the mantis shrimp in the below videos.

I’ve had two dead emerald crabs in 3 days but there bodies are whole so not sure if it was the mantis or not. All the other cuc seem unharmed as well.

I plan on getting a goby and blenny as well as leopard wrasses down the line so not sure how safe it will be keeping this mantis.

I should be able to get him out but will need to remove the rock and the foundation rock which will stir up the sand bed and mess things up. I’m guessing just putting the rock in a tub with no water should get him to jump on out.

Thank you.

+1 for florida mantis.

as for the wrasse, blenny, and goby, they will be a lovely snack for your mantis. Either get rid of the mantis when you add other fish or get a single domino damsel, mantis usually won’t bother it, it’s really cool to watch.

I plan on taking the rock out since it’s all glued together in one piece and just sitting on foundation Marco rock. I’ll put the rock in a dry tub and wait for him to come out. Hopefully non of the beneficial bacteria dies. I might need to take out the foundation rock but hope not since it will mess with the sand bed.
