Alk and PH are in range it seems, so seems ok.

Last week i accidentally dosed 1200 ml of alk into my a40 gal system and had to do 4 emergency water changes over the next 24 hours but this seems like no harm done

No but my flow is fairly strong and I’d have to get more. Also I know they dissolve/fall apart with time and cause little particles to be in the tank. Well I had it happen before in my bucket of saltwater which is why I’m cautious of adding it directly to my tank and but I know they should be replaced. But I’m not sure if that’s normal or not and could be because they are typically meant for freshwater.
Plenty of people use airstones in saltwater...I've never heard of one falling apart...but again it's your tank so if you wanna invest in more equipment its your choice

True and well I already have 10x more invested in it than originally planned. As in I could’ve easily gotten a brand new 100-200 gallon tank and packed it with corals. Instead I choose to spend it on fancy equipment lol.
