Hello Guys,

I noticed one of my CPDs has developed a white patch on its back that wasn't there before. Since they're quite small, it's hard to get a clear look at it. I hope someone might recognize what this could be.

Unfortunately, catching him isn’t an option as my tank is heavily planted, and they’re extremely fast swimmers. I would need to create a lot of chaos in the tank to attempt that. So, I’m hoping to find a way to treat him directly in the tank that will both help him and prevent the spread of the disease also don't harm the plants.
Is there a safe dosage of aquarium salt that won't harm my plants but could still be effective in treating whatever this may be, or if any factory medicine that does the same?

Tank parameters:
Ammonia: 0, Nitrite: 0, Nitrate: 10, Temperature: 77.9°F, Weekly 40% water change, 15 gallon
Other tank details:
Recently added some plants (properly deep bleached them as usual).
Tankmates: Corydoras and Otocinclus and 8 CPDs in total

Any advice on how to move forward without causing harm to the plants or further stress to the fish would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Nice looking fish and setup! I've not yet kept these Danios myself, but they are on my radar. In general, Danios are pretty hardy, so I'm surprised, but I'm tagging along to see if someone has experience with this as I've been thinking of a small, desktop 5 or 6 gallon planted for my wife's office. She really likes those tiny Thai Micro Crabs, and I thought those guys with some of these CPD and some plants would be a nice setup.

Good luck with your CPD's and tank!

EDIT: Am I the only one that wishes we had just a small, but robust, freshwater section? Yeah, there's other freshwater forums, but none, in my opinion, have the features of R2R.

Thank you! Here's a picture of the tank:

It's a 20-gallon tank, but I keep it a few inches below full since I know these little guys can jump quite high!

I’ve heard CPDs are hardy fish, and I keep the tank very clean, so I’m surprised one of them has come down with what looks like a possible illness.

They’re such great fish, super active but still shy — even after three months, they dart away when I approach the tank!

Thanks so much for tagging others for help. Hopefully, someone can shed some light on what might be happening here.

I really appreciate it!
