Oh, no! Heard that could happen. So sorry.Yes! I overdosed NOPOX so I never dosed or used it again.
Never would have thought of that!leather dominated my tank and I forgot I wasnt running carbon
I am so sorry. Still no idea at all? That’s my biggest fear.2 weeks ago.
Not your normal tank crash
So came home to a crashing tank last week Monday. No idea what the cause was but water stank and there was a massive bacteria bloom. The night before the tank looked fine but I did notice a frag of Seriatopora dendritica had started stning and one hammer looked ticked off. I tested salinity and...www.reef2reef.com
Nothing I can definitely put my finger on.I am so sorry. Still no idea at all? That’s my biggest fear.
How long was it on the tank?I think I am going through something right now unfortunately. A cooling fan fell into the display. I think something from the fan may have leeched into the water. All of my corals are closed or dead/dying. I am doing water changes and added carbon but I am at a loss on how to overall save my baby.
As mentioned above, the best treatment is almost always large water changes and addition of activated carbon.I think I am going through something right now unfortunately. Exact same situation for me 15 years or so ago. Fish lived minus 1 but all corals died.I was only using an Apex to run a heater. The Apex froze and held the heater on. I was not using a secondary controller. Lost a lot of coral and livestock. I had the tank running for four years. I ended up shutting the tank down and got out of the hobby for a few years. I am back now and have redundancy with my heater controller. I am not hating the Apex either as this was 10 years ago when it crashed. My take away is always have two controllers on a heater so you do not over heat.
