Has anyone hard plumbed a roller mat 500 using a street 90? I ordered one and was hoping I could hard plumb it instead of using the the supplied 1" hose. The idea is to keep the plumbing close to roller mat and not take up so much space in the sump.

Since you mentioned it uses a 1" hose, the hole is likely the same size as the 1200 model and will accept one end of a 1" union to adapt to pvc directly to the body

Awesome! Thank you. I didn't even think about using a union half. That with a street 90 should work perfectly.

Do you think it runs better hard plumbed? We’re just starting a new tank and trying to figure out how to plumb the overflow

There isn't a significant difference performance wise between the two besides used real estate.
You can really make it hug a wall with hard plumbing vs the flexible hose and attach a gate valve on the down run but you have to disconnect the union first if there ever comes a time when you need to move it a touch or lift it for whatever reason vs the included flexible tube giving you some leeway (depending on how it was set up)

Appreciate the insight, you’ve been super helpful. What do you think of adding a 3/4” to 1” plumbing connector? My overflow box is running 3 - 3/4” drains, says 1200, but someone pointed out it won’t even be half that with the 3/4”

Should still be able to function fine. Just make sure you use the lower dispense setting if using a full siphon to reduce any noise if it rolls too much paper (reducing backpressure and causing it to suck air)
