Here's an updated full tank shot. I'm always amazed at how effective a little chemiclean is on cyano, and it's super easy for a skimmer to remove so I've still never done a water change on this system. :)

My Christmas present from my wonderful wife was delayed due to weather but should be arriving this week. Two blue ladies and a pair of earmuffs. :)

My latest creation is a 'wrasse bed' for the wrasses I want to keep (halichoeres melasmapomus and macropharyngodon negrosensis).

I spy some new beach bums from @AquaSD. Can't wait until they all grow together into one giant bum.

The nori stick XL is a hit.

Two of the snails that I have came with little bi-valve hitchhikers. Little mobile water filters. (Photo-bomb by the watanabe)

How is that wrasse bed working out so far?

The only things living in it are snails because UPS lost the package with my new wrasse... It's supposed to show up today (2 days late now), and I don't have high hopes for what I'll find inside. Luckily it was insured so I'll get replacements, just very frustrating.

Unfortunately neither angelfish survived the two day UPS delay but look who did!

This little guy sure was convincing with it's fake death routine. When I went to bed last night it was just laying at the bottom of the QT tank barely breathing, I thought for sure it was a goner.

Wake up this morning and it's out swimming around and even ate some frozen mysis. Incredible for such a delicate fish.

Sorry to hear about the angels. I just won't order livestock in the winter months anymore. For me it never seems to work out. I hope the wrasse does well and uses the bed you made for it.

Just like that we're all friends.

Added it to the tank last night as the lights were going down, not sure if it actually used the bed, but I believe it did. It's staying close to the sand on that side of the tank.

Well unfortunately the wrasse didn't end up making it. On the third morning I found it in the sand like this, still moving a little. Dead within a few hours. Not really sure what happened, but it looks like something injured it, though it doesn't look serious enough to have been fatal, imo.

In other news my phosphates started creeping up again (don't ask me how high). Bringing them down over a few days with some Phosphat-e into the skimmer.

After a 24 hour observation all three were actively hunting around the QT tank, but not interested in frozen. Decided to take the calculated risk to transfer them to the main tank where there's tons of pods and limpets for them.

It was amusing watching how differently each fish reacted.

The smallest buried itself in the sand immediately, and is still down there.

The medium one immediately noticed a pod on the rim of the sand box and went after it like a toddler chasing a piece of candy. Never looked back.

The largest hugged the sand for a while, but then must have noticed the medium one found food and decided to join it.

Now these two are acting like they own the place, while the third continues to hide in the sand.
