So a while back I found a deal on this tank I couldn’t say no to, especially considering that I really loved the dimensions. So I began gathering gear and a build would be under way. So I diy’ed a stand and picked up a 10 gallon tank from petco to build a little sump. I basically just scaled town version of sumps I’ve made in the past. My rock is live rock from an old system that has long been dry. But being natural rock the shapes were interesting and but rather large. But it think I like how it worked out. Planning on a mixed reef. As for stocking plans I’m not dead set on specifics but probably a pair of clowns, a tailspot blenny actually pretty open to suggestions. On to a gear list and some pics.
Fijicube 32.5 ext
DIY sump
Dd jumpgaurd screen
DIY stand
Icecap k1-50 skimmer
Hygger pinpoint heater
Hygger 25w return pump
Hygger wave maker (1600gph I think?).
Will be adding a tunze fuge light.
Ati SunPower 6 bulb fixture with ati bulbs
I’m topping off manually at the moment but that will change pretty soon

Everything is running and I’m happy with how everything is working, and it’s really quiet. The hob on my little planted tank makes more noise!

Thank you for the compliment on the stand. I’m not the best carpenter, but I did want a nicer result than I’ve gotten in the past. So after a few YouTube videos, a kreg jig, and taking my time a little more than usual I’m pretty pleased with it. I like the clean Ada style of it.

We’ll things are officially underway! I just received a pair of B grade DaVinci clownfish from Cultivated Reef. I got a small and a medium with the hope that they’ll bond a little easier. Got them acclimated and they look nice and healthy. Can’t wait to turn the lights on and get them eating tomorrow!

With my birthday coming up my wife wanted to get some things for the tank. So we did a coral order with salt critters.com as they were having a nice sale. Got some nice easy corals some acans, a hammer, Duncan, some Florida ricordia and a lobo. Also starting to see some diatoms so I’ll be stocking some pods this week. I’m not quite happy with the lighting color so I’ll be tinkering with that this week as well. Corals acclimated nicely and are nice and puffy and should color up nicely over the next few weeks. Everything is on the sand bed for now but certain things will find a home on the rock work.

Added some pods and 3 astrea snails yesterday. Also cleaned up the cabinet a bit, made a splash shield for the sump, and added some actinics and timer for them. Still playing with the bulb combo, I’ll update when I’m happy with it. Right now I like the pop the actinic dare giving the coral. For now here’s the cabinet cleaned up a bit
