Being that nobody can really distinguish the good ones from the bad ones without a doubt, your probably better off treating them as bad. There's just too many uncertainties surrounding these things to take a chance IMO. GL.

Hey guys, IV looked all around and can't find any info on this. 3 month old tank, everything else seems fine but just noticed these for the first time a few days ago. They seem to come out at night and quickly decent back into the sandbed during the morning hours. They appear to be a brownish green in color and under 1mm in diameter. They leave behind a whitish dotty residue on the glass as the go back into the sand. The appearance is almost that of a plant root, and I thought it was some sort of algae until I watched the "colony" undulate across the glass. Iv attached photos of the whitish residue left behind, and two others of the worms coming from the sand. Anyone know what these are and what I should do? Thanks!

I'm thinking Porcelain Crab or Coral Crab. It lacks the hairy legs associated with the common Mithrax Crabs. Any chance you've noticed it eating by way of feather like appendages? I'm not seeing signs of them though.

It does indeed have the "feathers" that he uses to eat. I was thinking porcelain but his odd carapace shape threw me off. I'll be taking this guy home
