Sponge perhaps?Found something new growing at the base of my Leather Coral! It's kind of soft, but doesn't seem to retract when touched.
Couple of snails I've found in my tank.
I've been removing these in case they are pyramid snails, but they are not white like the other ones I've seen pictures of:
I found this guy today. Any idea what this one is?
Thank you! I was thinking that might be what it was, but hadn't seen one like it.Sponge perhaps?
Maybe Renee will chime in on it. Of course she might think that you're right, since she hasn't said anything different. Thanks again!I can't confirm it, but I have sponges that look very similar. So it's an educated guess at this point.
Can someone please help ID this guy? Found him on my overflow box.
Okay, but is it safe for the tank or not? That's a Epitonium sp., a Wentletrap.
It's about a quarter inch long. Pretty small guy. I had already removed him based on one report I read where they eat corals. You'll want to remove it, it eats corals. It punctures them and sucks out their fluids.
Here's what mine was up to.... towards he bottom you can see where he was attached to my zoas. Wentle Pics
I'm still looking around for the little one in a shell catalog. It seems the pattern should be somewhat easy to find without seeing the other characteristics. What I would really need a picture of, is the opening of the snail. Are you able to get that clearly with your camera? If you can, can you throw a coin in there with it for size reference?
They are so small hard to get a good pic but appears to have a shell doesn't look like a shrimp they're round. I'll turn down the blues and try to get a better pic.Turn off your blue lights and take the pic with just whites
The top one may be a cyrinth (sp?)...if it is they are good stuff eaters...Couple of snails I've found in my tank.
