That was my furst guess too, its just weired that it shows up now, that rock laid up side down for moths untill six months ago when i stuck on the gsp.
Would the gsp overgrow that?

Attached spider looking thing came in on a blasto frag I got -- there were quite a few of them.

At first, I thought perhaps some sort of spider, but none of the ones I found had 8 legs -- most of them had 7.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Montipora and some sps can adequately fight of GSP.

Common name Sea Spider, Pycnogonida. Usually predatory to Zoanthids, can be difficult to eradicate.

Yeah, that was what I thought as well. Pretty sure none entered my tank as the ones shown were the result of my dip. As an added precaution, I epoxied every part of the rock that wasn't covered in coral (it wasn't that big of a rock).

Thanks!

For sure, an excellent hitch-hiker. :)

Not such an excellent hitch-hiker but cool for nerds like me. :)

Here is an interesting link.

Oh i had hitch-hiker pests but i loved them! They're only a pest to us reef keepers, other than that, they're something new, special and a privilage to observe.. Tho in some cases it can be even more satisfying to observe them leaving your system;-)

Hope this shot is clear enough for an ID. Good? Bad? How to find again and remove?

Stomatella snail very good to have in your tank. I need to find someone around me with some I only have one but they breed fast in the right environment. Used to have a lot but switched tanks and rocks and lost most of them :(

While I appreciate the reply this is most definitely a crab of some sort. Sorry. I should have mentioned that in my first post.

That is no way a stoma. We should not ID something and say that is 100% this animal if we are not sure. We could potentially do harm to new reefers who haven't learned the common hitchhiker's yet. Im not trying to be rude at all so please don't take it that way.

Lol your pics come out like mine kinda hard to see. Did you notice the color is it hairy or have spikes all over? Also wait till lights out that's when they normally come out you might be able to catch him. I would remove it.

OMG on my phone it totally looks like a snail. But now on the computer it is not a snail at all. It kinda looks like a trapezia Pocillopora if so they are good for acros lovers. But I would pull him out get a better pic or maybe just place in the sump to live his days out.
