Guess I’ll be playing “lure the crab out and shake him off the rock” this weekend. The rock he keeps hiding in I want to stay in the display. No big deal. I got him out once I can do it again.Agree

He’s pretty good at staying in the one rock. That’s the only reason I’m confident I can grab him. The rock is the size of a toy football so it’s easily removable. Congrats on the order! It’s definitely fun watching what comes (back) to life once the rock is back in water! The “hitchhiking” corals I got are starting to color up under the blues.Should have grabbed it when you had the chance!!! I just placed an order, looking forward to the observation period.
This is an anthrax from what I can see and very undesirable especially if it has black tips on it claw
I live in North Georgia and I am driving down to do local pick up. If you have any tips, I am all ears! He’s pretty good at staying in the one rock. Local pickup is awesome! Keeping the rock submerged in water is your best option. When they ship it wet it’s barely enough water in the bag for 100% of the rock to stay wet 100% of the time. Get yourself some sort of large food grade plastic container with a tight fitting lid and make sure you have enough water to completely cover the rock. I hope @vetteguy53081 didnt mean mithrax. I have some of those and he’s definitely not one. Claws are too thick.Mithrax?

Regardless you probably won’t see any critters on day one. Even after 45 days I’m still discovering hikers. I think I saw a baby bobbit today. So definitely isolate and observe for as long as possible. Minimum 45 days… Up to 90 days(egg hatching time fra
Great advice (90 days)! I will have a few months to observe in a 15 gallon Fluval Flex before I start my IM 25 gallon lagoon. Waiting on some house remodeling to get done...Local pickup is awesome!
