Good morning. We are on generator power. Severe thunderstorms came through last night.
Proof that backup power is essential . Hopefully soon for power

Good morning. Took the pup out for a walk before 7:00...it was already 74 degrees! You all take care and stay cool during this heat wave.

Here's some dog trivia for you. We got our doggie DNA result and it was pretty fascinating, considering all they knew from us was she's a dog and she's female. Everything else came from that cotton swab we sent. We had the option to send a picture, but chose not to...didn't want to give them any clues! They didn't even ask for a breed/possible breeds.

She was advertised as a Great Pyrenees/Aussie Shepherd mix. That was actually pretty close! She is 42% Great Pyrenees (that part was obvious), 30% English Shepherd (we had no idea), 20% Australian Shepherd (we suspected), and 8% Golden Retriever (we also suspected). Not quite a Heinz-57....I guess maybe a Heinz-4. :smiling-face-with-smiling-eyes: Anyway, she's a great girl and we would have accepted whatever mix she turned out to be!

Have a great day...stay cool. :)

I am no longer interesting enough to be here. Yesterday was 91 year old testicles and 2 new specialist referrals.
No power still, fish tank parameters are okay. Need to get copies of knee x rays
Dog wants in.

One day at a time, the new pup can help you dig that hideout, just bury him a bone and repeat... ;)

Good Morning. Beach is full of amphipods today.

So many that I had to rent a POD truck for the excess. :D

I was worried about this but a look with the flashlight into the new tank showed many many big ones and some brittle stars.
fishguy242 probably doesn't want to know there are 5 million large bristleworms in there.

I thought about you Sunday. I went to hook up a new cooktop for our kitchen.
The pigtail had a black wire, a red wire and a green wire. #8 aluminum to copper connections. Hmmm
I found the only package of wire nuts rated for Al/Cu connections in 3 counties and bought them.
I wonder how many house fires this will cause when people just reuse the old wire nuts they took off.

With aluminum wire, that we no longer use in NY, I would always put NO/OX on them to prevent oxidation. I also use it for all boat and car connections.

The wire nuts I got are filled with it when you buy them.

Good morning. Still on generator. Really glad we got the thing. It would have been 2000 degrees in here yesterday and I would have lost the tanks.
I'm glad you got the generator, too! I have two portable generators, but wonder what I'd have to do if we had a long summer outage. I guess I'd have to hope my generators will power my portable ice machine (as well as the tanks and my coffee maker....the important stuff :)) and I can float bags of ice in the tanks with the pumps/power heads running.

Yes I know. But you can fill any wire nut with it. :)

They are purple. I like purple.

and they are UL listed for Al/Cu connections. Which is why I paid $43 for 10 of them. Ridiculous.

Silly Ned dismantled the thing hoping I could put another pigtail on it. Nope.
