Getting the bandsaw into the tank might be a bit tricky.I’ll buy enough of them to pay for a bandsaw!!! It’ll be worth it!
It would be a feat!Getting the bandsaw into the tank might be a bit tricky.
Yes. Not necessarily die off but times where they won’t extend on a side where another is contacting them. Def with the Bernardapora but I also feel even between certain Goni species. I know this supposedly isn’t a thing but it’s what I’ve seen in my tank. Spacing is def a good idea and mine started out that way but have grown and spread and are encroaching on other corals and each other.@JGT the running out of room thing for growth is an issue I’m sure I’ll face.
I actually have a new tank in the works and plan on spacing mine out more in the new tank. I believe I will try to set up one end of the tank just for the Gonis (I do have 2 alveopora). I also love octospawn/frogspawns and hammers and have a garden of those in the middle of my tank….
Have you noticed any actually die off from the Gonis crowding each other? I noticed you have a Bernardpora (short tentacle Goni with the long sweeper tentacles). Those are aggressive from what I understand and will murder their neighbors. ……
And gonis really do come in all colors and I love the way they flow…..
About 2.5 years. They’ve grown quickly and spread. I have this issue with all my corals, not just gonis. Double edge sword. You want them to grow but then when they do, you face coral warfare issues and they are hard to frag since they encrust onto the rock.@JGT how long has your current system with the Goni heaven been running?
But a cordless lithium dremelAbout 2.5 years. They’ve grown quickly and spread. I have this issue with all my corals, not just gonis. Double edge sword. You want them to grow but then when they do, you face coral warfare issues and they are hard to frag since they encrust onto the rock.
I have one and is my main fragging tool when I can remove the coral. Never tried it in tank and don’t think I’m brave enough to give it a go.But a cordless lithium dremel
Diamond cut off disks
Tape up all seams, vents, and the charge port
Dremel fast! and use it till it dies.
Consider if you get one or two uses out of it, it’s earned it’s cost. They are around 35-40$
Ever seen what happens to lithium in salt water?
That’s pretty interesting.
With batteries the lithium is sealed inside the casing. And to be extra safe I said seal the dremel with tape and to go fast
Hey have fun with that. When the fire department goes to an electric car fire they just keep the surrounding are wet until the lithium burns out. From my understanding it is very difficult to extiguish because it releases and creates it's own oxygen source much like magnesium. It actually requires a special type of extiguisher made specially for metal fires.
Hey keep you phone handy when ever you do that. If it ever lights off in your tank get a video I would love to see it.
This may be a safer option WMYCONGCONG Flexible Drill Shaft Extension Universal Flexible Shaft adapter Attachment for Dremel Rotary Grinder Woodworking Tools https://a.co/d/0faBAO8k and cheaper too you could get 4 times the fragging for the same cost.
I still wanna see it... maybe you could make an exception for the 4th of July?I agree this is safer and better than my suggestion …
And I hope everyone knows I was not serious about taking a dremel underwater

I am a mechanic I own several...lol.You can use an air compressor and get attachments for air powered tools. Harbor freight has cheap ones
