Hopefully it'll improve with time. Maximas are not beginner clams and I find them a little finicky. Keep us posted.
Updated pic.

The clam has been looking much better everyday but the other day it made its way OFF the rock and to the sandbed… it really opened up and looked so much better down there… so I left it… yesterday I moved it onto a rock and left it on the sandbed… it’s looking the best it has…. The flow is about the same as where it was… lighting is probably half… could it have been getting too much light? I would expect it to be the opposite of that but it’s doing a lot better where it is now…

Not enough light IMO. Expanding to capture as much as it can. AI lights are pretty weak. I have 3 of the hydra 32 on a 55g and cranked up it's barely enough to grow sps in the middle of the tank. These are lights that are about 6" off the water. They are also very narrow beam and spread is terrible.

The mantle still seems retracted to me, has it opened up more?
