I recently replaced the sump for my Red Sea Reefer 170 with a Fiji Cube Advance 20. I wasn't able to put my UV sterilizer under the tank how it was before and I wanted to add a GHl flow sensor while I was messing with stuff. The only way I think it can work is behind the tank as pictured. This makes the water have to rise then go down to enter the UV, then when it exits the UV it will go down a little to reenter the stand then rise again to the return nozzle.
The return nozzle is sill the highest point in this system. Would the initial rise add any significant head pressure, or is the highest point in the system still the main factor for that? I'm not looking for exact calculations, general answers are fine. Thanks.
