Hey guys,

I know garden eels can't get Ich (but can carry). My tang and damsels have Ich and velvet.

They have been separated (the eels from the other fish).

The other fish are now being treated with copper in QT.

I don't know what to do with the two eels and hermit crabs + boxer shrimp.

What I've done is; I bought a new tank.

The tank we were using is no longer in usage (given away), so we have a completely, fresh start.

This new tank just arrived, unopened, so we don't need to do the fallow.

(Although need to cycle now, I will be using prepared water from LFS next door so it'll be faster).

So, advice please? I'm new (been a year, just got hit with Ich and fluke).

Specifically what to do with the eels and inverts.

Is there medication for them?

I'm in Singapore, so we don't have Chloroquine Phosphate or alot of chemicals except for those common ones.

Please help, thank you!

Garden eels can get velvet and they can also get Neobenedenia (one type of fluke). They don't show symptoms of ich, but they may not be 100% resistant to it.

I wonder if your fish actually have ich and velvet at the same time - that is VERY rare, I've never seen it in any of my fish systems.

In terms of a medication that is safe for eels and invertebrates that will treat ich and/or velvet, there really isn't anything. You can use praziquantel with eels and invertebrates, that that only treats flukes, not ich.
