My wife wanting all the big beautiful colored fish got my blessing to build a giant tank now, after I told her no to about a dozen fish that she wanted to put into our current tank that's entirely too small for them.I got into the hobby because the wife wanted an aquarium like the one on Finding Nemo. :/
Especially when you start explaining the nitrogen cycle to someone or the various chemical aspects of the hobby, they think you are really weird hahaFun fact: reef keepers truly are a very interesting and varied bunch. We love talking about fish and corals and inverts and other people just think we are weird.
Interesting, never knew that!! plus never seen it before hahaMost bony fish have a second set of jaws called pharyngeal jaws. The most noteworthy are eels and cichlids. However those of us who have leopard wrasse may know that Macropharyngodon means large pharyngeal tooth. And you may see the teeth if you get a look down it’s mouth.
So totally agree....worms, sponges, limpets, etc....I've seen all of these seemingly pop up out of nowhere, even without adding new livestock for many months. It truly is a beautiful thing!Life will always find a way
You know, thinking more about my Statement, if we would worry more about the actual water we keep than what's in the box, we would all be expert reefers. (for the most part)So totally agree....worms, sponges, limpets, etc....I've seen all of these seemingly pop up out of nowhere, even without adding new livestock for many months. It truly is a beautiful thing!
This is so true. This hobby has taught me that you never know/can tell who's getting elbow deep in a reef lolFun fact: reef keepers truly are a very interesting and varied bunch. We love talking about fish and corals and inverts and other people just think we are weird.
