So here are some pics of my existing display reef. It is 140 gallons. The tank is controlled by a Neptune apex. I have AI Hydra 52 LED lighting, moonlight is assisted by these really neat and cheap large computer fans. Einstein game because the hydros were overheating and shutting off frequently. This was a great solution. I have two Ecotech MP 40s for circulation, Reef Octopus skimmer and Vortech S-1 DC variable speed return pump. The latter was not worth the money I had to spend to get it. It does the job for now but has issues.
I’ve also included some snaps of a little experiment In doing with breeding. I’m fascinated by breeding different species of marine organisms. I’ve just started collecting specimens and building up my DIY hatchery, lol. I read some books and was sucked in. It’s the next level In the hobby for me. It feels like a natural progression that only my fellow referees will appreciate. So that’s why I’m sharing.
I had my first clutch of peppermint shrimp and have been very encouraged. I’ve gotten the fry to day 21 for the first clutch. This second one I have 3 left out of 16 and doing well at day 12 now.
Everybody please enjoy the pics, and PLEASE anyone with experience with this offer suggestions.

I’ve come a long way... started with no sump and skimmer, to adding a sump but still no dosing. Just regular water changes. Parameters stay stable always and I sit at 0 nitrates, no matter how much I over feed :/

Just getting back into the aquarium hobby. I got this 55 gallon for free. It’s still long aways to go. But, tbh it’s ten times cleaner than it is now. Yes still tons to do for work on it. That’s not even all the live rock in the tank. I still have about another 30lbs in buckets yet. The whole backside of the tank is just hard on stuck algae/dirt sludge. So yes I know ton of work. I have no sump yet on this. I have a 30 gallon QT and another 30 gallon empty that I’m thinking making it into a sump. So all in all this is my aquarium and yes getting back into the hobby. I may hate the comments or appreciate them but, any help is good help imo. Otherwise everyone have a good rest of your weekend
