I think I might have found the culprit.... I was putting nori on the holder last night and the screw wouldn't tighten into the mag holder. I looked at it closely and noticed it was falling apart. All the threads were broken and falling apart. After closer examination I could see that there was some holes around the screw hole. Might have been leeching from the magnet... We'll see...

I have some poly but it's not the kind that you need to pull heavy metals. I will order some tomorrow but not sure how long it will take to get....

And as far as leaching magnet. I'm not convinced on that. (How much water really flows in and out in a tiny hole, with no passthru flow)... I've been always thinking Heavy Metals were possible culprits for some kind of downturn. I did a recent ICP test and nothing showed up. Not saying is wasn't the reason (for you), it's just that is may Not be the reason.

If you still think it Heavy Metals (which I did), I got this Metal Absorber from Two Little Fishies.
I chose it since the Capacity is high.
Not cheap, so maybe Poly is better option.

but now I think that I was starving my cuc (hi po4) and two peppermint shrimp were eating my LPS after they took care of the appt.
UC has an old article on lobos/brains, and he stated when they get in trouble its a dinner bell for crabs.
I sure hope those trachies come around

I found some of the Poly-Filter at my LFS and put it in yesterday. Today when I got home I went down to the sump and removed it to see what color it might be. The Poly-Filter changes color with what it is removing. I expected to see a color like red (aluminum) or orange (iron) but no, it's light tan to brown (organic wastes)....
Well now I have no idea why things are wasting away. Still no results from the ICP test and I am stumped.....

Bummer about the struggles but happy to see oyu got NO3 under control
I've heard of ATI tests taking almost a month to get results back. Makes it really hard to use that one when working on a predicament. Hoping for the best though!

@Scurvy my last test took 15 days from the day I sent it. This one is at 14 today. Hopefully I will see the results in the next couple of days.
Trachy and Lobo are pretty much gone. NO3 was at about 15 when I checked it Sunday. I have no idea what could be causing their demise.....

I was hoping the filter floss would give some indication for you. Fingers crossed you get some actionable info fro the icp test my friend. The not knowing mystery stuff is the worst.
