Apologies in advance. I just need to vent. My Waterbox was scheduled to arrive today via FedEx freight. Scheduled arrival date and time two weeks ago. After much begging I finally got the day off work so I could be home to receive it in my garage. Spent all morning cleaning out the garage to make room. 2 pm came, no call no show. That’s ok, I still have a two hour window. 4 pm came, no call no show. what the heck is going on. Did I miss the driver somehow? So finally I wisen up and track the freight via the link Waterbox provided. This is what it said: Delivery date to be determined, emergency-delay in shipment.

Ok I realize this is a super busy time of the year. I realize delays happen. I realize I should have checked the tracking earlier and not taken it for granted they would show on time. But for the love of humanity, I’ve had text alerts established with them for years now. Just send a brother a text saying the shipment will not be on time. Who knows when the delivery will be made now or how I’m going to get another day off work. Ghetto. Just down to earth ghetto service.

Might be an indicator of staff shortage in your area, which would of course be most important for livestock shipments now that you know. Some couriers have big shortages in some localities, but none in others.

Don't worry! If you;re not home they can just dump it off the back of the truck onto your driveway!

I just got a order delivered from chewy - some milkbones and benebones for the dogs and a 5g bucket of IO. On my ring doorbell you can watch as they carry the box up to the porch leaving a trail of salt all the way from the truck. They had managed to shatter the bucket while keeping the box relatively intact. Called chewy and they sent a replacement order n/c, but c'mon - y'all leave a trail of salt all the way up my driveway?????

YAY FEDEX!!!

I feel for you. I ordered a new SVS subwoofer and it showed it would be delivered Thursday. Kept checking the front door all day because the porch pirates are out in full force in my area. I finally checked the fedex site and it showed it was on the truck that morning but now it had some generic wording stating it was delayed until tomorrow. Same thing happened on Friday. Shows it on the truck at 5am but by that afternoon it showed delivery delayed until Saturday. Checked Saturday morning and it said it was now delayed until Monday. Went out Saturday afternoon and get a call from my teenage daughter that there is a big package at the front door and she said it was so heavy it was very hard for her to get it inside. I guess fedex figured they would put Monday for the new delivery and then I would be appreciative they did it on Saturday?

Hopefully things have improved from last year. I ordered lights that shipped on December 1st and got to the Dallas terminal, which I live in a Dallas suburb, on the 4th. It sat there until it was delivered at the end of January.

So I had the same problem. The driver said that he couldn’t deliver the package to my front door because of my dogs. Well I have a 6 foot fence all around my back yard that is completely secured. It has nothing to do with my front porch. Additionally he has delivered packages to my front door multiple times before without concern for my dogs (which again are in my back yard, and two of thank small enough to step on). I don’t know what kind of tricks they play or why. Also if they miss a delivery, they wait two days to re-attempt it. They won’t try again the next day.

So, I now try to order from vendors who ship UPS next day b/c I've had issues w/FedEx -- the drivers will make up odd excuses for an attempted delivery that wasn't really attempted. I've learned that they don't have to actually ring your doorbell even (it's at their discretion), and I think that's a covid thing.

My building is a high-rise apartment building w/a concierge and a mail room where all the packages get delivered -- it is literally impossible to not be able to deliver b/c there is someone on duty to accept the daily deliveries 24/7 and sign for them if signature is required.

Well. Over the summer I ordered a toadstool from Biota and it was shipped FedEx overnight with signature required. The day of arrival at about 1 pm when nothing had yet come I checked the tracking and it said delivery was attempted but couldn't be delivered. I called FedEx and was angry (but not so angry or belligerent that they would just write me off), telling them it was livestock and I was sitting home the whole time waiting for it. I asked that it be delivered that day. It took a few hours but tracking showed it as back out for delivery, and it was finally delivered around 7 p.m. that evening. So I would call FedEx and let it be known that you are waiting.

So, I just received my Waterbox shipment via FedEx freight. Although they didn’t call me in the morning to verify that I would be home they did arrive on time. So credit to them on that one.

But my experience with the driver was very unpleasant and I felt he was very unprofessional. So he places the crate with the aquarium onto his hydraulic transport and brings it to my driveway. I had, in advance, cleared out half the garage to make room and I was waiting for him with the garage door open ready to receive the shipment. So he pushes (not pulls) the hydraulic transport and it gets caught on the small edge of my garage floor. So be stops, places the product in my driveway and says that’s it. I ask him what do you mean that’s it, it has to be in the garage, I paid for garage delivery (extra $100 fee charged by Waterbox). He says you payed for curbside delivery. I say no, I paid for garage delivery and we can call you’re people right now to verify. So he tries again, this time harder and it gets caught again and the entire aquarium almost tips over. So finally I suggest that I take my car out of the garage and then he can back it into the garage. Lo and behold it backed into the garage like a hot knife through butter. And he was able to take his carrier out too. Then I took pictures of all the packaging damage and wrote it on the sheet and made him sign it and also got his employee number just in case. Of course he provided a lot of passive aggressive behavior.

The thing that really ticks me off about this whole scenario was his lack of effort in bringing the product into my garage and lying about my deliver option. Very very unprofessional and uncalled for.

For what it’s worth I will be leaving a review with FedEx and Waterbox. I think Waterbox would do well going with another delivery company. I’ve had deliveries made via freight in the past with other companies and they have been very professional and pleasant.

Now to open the aquarium and hope there are no internal damages. Thanks for reading.

yay...my package arrived saturday the 11th...only took an extra 10 days ... all calls and questions were "handled" by an obviously offshore call center where each person promised something different then never followed up...got a local number from a driver dropping off something else (who said it was her first day)...that got automatically transferred to the call center....

Just keep in mind that southern British Columbia suffered from catastrophic flooding in November that resulted in ALL road and railway links to the rest of the country (and the U.S.) being severed. Entire highways were washed away, and only one highway has reopened (and only one to commercial traffic). Although I've come to loathe FedEx myself, this is one of those times where I really don't think anyone in particular can be blamed.

The horrible customer service you suffered was inexusable, though.

I agree. I’m not mad as the delay. Delays happen. But the lack of communication and, as you said, poor consumer service.

I'm glad your waterbox arrived. I ordered some corals from riptide that were overnight'd last monday. They were delayed for two days due to "mechanical issues" and now have been sitting less than 20 miles from my place since 9:45 am thursday ( no reasons given )
