That's awesome! So the lady that's going to do my certs said we have to do the pool stuff then there's a man-made lake about 45 minutes north of me that's made for open water training. The reason we have to wait until April is for the water to warm up. Did your hhhaaaawwiiife have to go swimming in the cold?

Very cool! I bet it's similar to the springs we have in central Texas. I went to Texas State and there's a crystal clear river that flows right through campus. It's about 63 degrees year round, regardless of the air temp. It comes out of the ground so fast that it doesn't have enough time to adjust. It's funny because it steams in the winter haha
They went like 40 feet down at most and it was crystal clear.

No..I was going to but my shoulder was jacked up from work kind of and I kept doing push-ups which further jacked it up...need to chill for a but. Didn't want to waste the money if I couldn't complete it.
Gotcha. From what my friends that dive have told me, having to be a strong swimmer isn't really required. You're not supposed to really move super fast anyway, plus the fins do a lot of the heavy lifting. I understand the certification to be focused on teaching you the equipment and how to use it properly, not to be an endurance test.
When you cant lift your arm it's a problem..lol.
