The only med I'd dose into a reef tank is Ruby Reef Rally. It has both antiseptic and antibiotic qualities and should work well for mild bacterial infections.
Was reading the above from another thread - do you think there’s any value in RRR in DT?

Here’s a pic from this am - it doesn’t look any worse and he seems ok, eating etc … I’ll decide later tonight if I’ll move him to the QT tank.

I have little choice in Canada, except maybe copper and hypo, so I haven’t been able to treat any of my fish over the years, zero experience in using anything else.

Luckily, every infection thus far healed on its own. Two rounds of ick, 3 bites over 5 years.

Best wishes on recovery, which ever route you take.

Thanks - keeping him where he’s at for now and watching closely for any signs and will move him if necessary.

In Canada the sale of medication for animals, including fish, is a medical act and reserved exclusively for veterinarians.

No meds to be found anywhere, except Copper maybe. You can’t see a vet either because there are none that treat fish. Or they want you to bring the fish in for an exam… and they‘re three hours away.

Minor fish wounds heal fast in saltwater IME.
Anything good requires a prescription here.
All I can do is provide a low stress well fed environment.
But this has proven to be very effective over 40 years.

Ruby, icky x, lab medic, and all that shelf stuff we have, but, there’s absolutely no evidence that it addresses the issues.

Do you have a link to icky x, never heard of it.
That’s just my name for the group of products which claim treatment of ick in DT.

In Canada it’s called Ick-X. I’ve seen another ick-b-gon as well. Claims to clear ick.

No idea what’s in this stuff and zero proof of its effectiveness in reef aquaria, or, potential collateral damage.

Copper, Hypo and TTM all proven ick treatments.

Video does not play and there are too many particles in the tank to clearly determine anything. Peeling again is a sign of skin irritation or bacterial issue
