Take me with you!!!!!

Dont joke.. I'll take anyone that would go. As long as u pay ur own way, and we split travelling expenses, it makes it cheaper for me.. and then I dont talk to myself as much about what my dream livestock list is while ripping at 85mph across the plains.... (75mph is speed limit on interstates in some areas out there because there is literally nothing)

When I was there I met up with a friend in central Kansas, the photo credit goes to Shawn Fowler of Hutchinson, Ks. Pics taken on his DSLR.

#capturedmoments on Fb.

Side gig for him. But wow. Amazing photos he captures.

Sand replacement day. Filling in the front of the tank. I have yet to remove the sand from the back. This was done on purpose. Once the front is established biologically in a few weeks, then I'll remove the back sand and replace it.

Got to cut the yard first and fertilize before working on the sand.

Added more sand last night. Pictures coming. Being aragonite sand, it's got quite a bit of light reflection.

Looks great!!

Used to "slowly" replace my sand bed once a year, before going bb.

Sand will hold in phosphates and nitrates.

I figured it was nutrient related. Taking my calcium hydroxide out of my ATO reservoir may help.

Don,

It could be, I've talked with Randy about nitrates having a relationship alk.

He also told me that whether sand was hardened or not, I will hold in phos. and could leach back out.

Like you said, your new substrate could have a higher buffing capacity... :)

Either way:
Your reef looks great... ;Woot ;Woot
