Nice poon! Had a reefer as a client today, got a solid tip and he will be mailing me some frags later this month, too cool. Next week i will be adding a yellowhead wrasse and a hihat drum. Nitrates, calc, alk etc are all right where i am wanting them. Ive got 1 day off now in the next 45. Its going to be nice enjoying my tank in October. In the meantime its nice whipping out flies in the blue glow!

Will have to check out that in the future. I had looked for it but my LFS did not have it in stock. And ultimately my outbreak started to become resoled before I needed to start special ordering anything.

Funny enough, all my tiny snails are the one knocking things over. The turbos haven't moved a thing yet. I haven't glued anything down yet since I've still been messing with the aquascape too much.

Glad to hear you had success too. When researching, many of the old posts I found made it sound pretty doomsday scenario.

It's good to be busy at the beginning, I started mine in November and worked 5 months straight, and it matured nicely without all the fiddling or adding things! Good luck with it.

Well, just recieved a couple fish from foxy aquatics out of florida. First shipment was a fighting conch and hi hat drum(Equetus acuminatus). Conch is fine but the drum was doa. Got a quick refund and reordered with a H. Garnoti, yellowhead wrasse. Both came in alive went to add em to the qt and the temp was 95! Rather than let em die, i have added em to the display and immediately ordered a new heater. Really hoping I didn’t introduce anything bad, but id rather run the risk of having to go fallow for a while than kill a couple seemingly healthy fish. Wrasse looked very happy and healthy, dove into the samd after 10 minutes. Drums fins look a bit rough, hoping it isnt a sign of bad news to come.
In summary: im cheap and bought a junky heater for the qt, foxy aquatics were great to deal with, and i have no idea why the hi hat isnt more popular in the hobby, super cool fish.

Been a busy few weeks, only had 2 days off since last post, got today and friday off and my next day off is sometime in october.
Sadly the hi hat did not make it. Was eating well then one day i woke up to see it belly up. New additions are a snowflake eel thaf has been happy to make a home if the rock pile surrounding the pvc cave and a nice montipora digi colony. Ive got my refugium up and running however the current lighting may mot be enough, minimal growth seen. For circulation ive added a jebao gyre which ive been pretty happy with but i felt like the light has been lacking. I ordered up a quanta light tropic sun to supplement my ai primes which should help with coral grown and if need be ill order a quantapop next month if the par is stil lacking.

Well little update, only one more guide day for fishing then ive got 4 months of duck hunting. Should have a bit more time around though. Caught some beauties this year though! 0DF23836-BF3B-46EB-98FA-7FF3274A13EA.jpeg
Added a quantalight reefcrest and have definitely noticed additional coral growth, and ive got my refugium fully running with solid cheato growth.
Ive got some minor hair algea growth which a couple urchins have been keeping down and overall i think the tank is looking great!

Well, i spent about a month on the road hunting and fishing. Had an 11 year old watching the tank and the only issues i came back to was a bunch of hair algea and both of my monti digis bleached out. And while i lost the two montis, everything else is doing has been growing nicely.

Welp. The 75 sprung a leak! I immediately began draining it. Moved the rock, inverts, and a few of the fish to a 32 brute.
Instead of another 75 i am going to purchase a 60 breeder as i do prefer the shallower tank. Should be purchasing it either tomorrow or tuesday and will hopefully have it all running by Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

Thankfully the transfer worked great. As much as I enjoyed the peninsula it just took up too much room.
The 60 looks much better in my opinion. Ill try to do a better update soon.
