Maybe you could add some of the hardier seagrasses (ex. Halodule wrightii) to help with detritus and nutrient accumulation in the substrate alongside the Mangroves.

Or you could use Nassarius snails… I guess.
I was actually running into the opposite problem, my tank was so clean my chaeto was melting out. But I do have some of the mini nass, a couple hermits, and a few cerith/nerite down below to help!

I’ll have to check that sea grass out

That lighting is phenomenal! Fantastic photo! I also love that little soft coral garden on the bottom right! Have you considered a Ricordea florida colony or some thick and thin branching Coralline? Also, what rock did you use for the scape?
I have an area I plan to put rics/Yuma right behind where my fat purple tang is at (of course). My goal is to kind of make “areas” of different types of coral. Zoa on the bottom right, mushrooms in the middle, rics on the left, lps in the middle, euphyllia middle right, with sps on top. Most of this rock has been with me for about a decade in one capacity or another, the remainder I found some cool shelf pieces at LFS for the top parts.

thanks for the compliments, always nice hearing encouragement!

Was given acans today by a fellow reefer. I have NEVER had luck with them, so I tossed this guy on the sand bed in the corner and it’s goin wild down there, eating, tentacles out, just lookin great. For people who are acan pros, can you show me where in my tank it should go, because down in a corner just doesn’t show it off well

scape for reference

Was thinking maybe in this area

there’s euphyllia to the right and just a random monti frag to the left. Below are mushrooms and toadstools. Thoughts?

So I haven’t taken a close look at my fuge in a couple weeks since they’re on opposite hours (middle of the night) and I can’t believe it! Totally took off!

couple of quick videos tonight

what I did was cruise the internet for unusual or interesting macros besides chaeto, attached them to These and buried the suction cup part in the sand. Wasn’t sure if it was going to work but it looked nice. Well I guess it did! I am so happy to see an algae forest growing below.

Thought y’all might like to see my oldest tank inhabitant, Ol’ Dozer the pistol shrimp. He’s been with me for almost 9 years now and is the only animal older than my Purple Tang. This is his 3rd watchman partner in his lifetime, and as you can see he loves to ruin my zoa garden area….

Really happy to report my levels are dialing in to exactly what I was aiming for. 8.3+ ph, 34.5-35 ppm, ORP is good, temp is bouncing between 77.5-78 correctly, alk that I aim for is 9.5, calcium at 450, aim for mag is 1325. It’s finally becoming mature!

against all logical sense in my mind, when my alk dropped to 9 but my calcium/mag were 520/1400 I continued to micro dose both parts of my B-ionic and it leveled out. All credit to @Randy Holmes-Farley for the advice there.
