Received and Added him to QT on 7/5/24. Has been in full copper treatment for 5 days. Over the last 2-3 days I’ve noticed him looking a bit “bloated” as I would call it. He has been more and more active everyday since I’ve added him. Due to him being more active (he eats everything I put in the tank) and me feeding a bit more to try and get some weight on my CBB, I’m assuming he’s just fat, but Ive never seen internal problems in fish so I’m double checking with the pros!

Haven’t noticed any weird poop floating around or anything. All water parameters are within normal range.

If this is a cause for concern, is it safe to treat at the same time as coppersafe or should I wait until treatment is over? Also have no clue how to treat for whatever it could be so if that could be explained I would greatly appreciate it.

TIA!!

Edit: I do have nori in for him everyday, and I’ve switched to feeding 3 x daily majority frozen mysis. I do occasionally throw in some frozen brine, live blackworms, chopped muscle and shrimp. Which he seems to love

Not fat. You can see by the prominence of the spine and behind the top of the head it is a bit underweight. Do fish get kwashiorkor?

Anyway I think @Jay Hemdal @vetteguy53081 @MnFish1 should have a look

That's the impression I had - the fish is actually thin, but the belly has a bulge to it. It could be that the fish is now just eating to make up for lost time.

I assumed so, he didn’t eat much the first week in there, the last couple days he’s been stuffing his face lol.
Thanks Jay, will keep everyone posted in the next couple days!

Body mass looks much better . So does its overall color. Dont see unusual swim behavior or buoyancy

My foxface will gorge on nori. I would keep rotating with spirulina brine and others to keep him from getting too bloated from nori.

Other than that they are pigs
