How's the noise level? What fittings are those inside the box? I cannot get the street fittings I bought to fit all together!I am running the L overflow and I do like it. Yes you need take care where you drill if you have a tank with trim. Mine ened up a little low but I am ok with it. Quality is good.
Noise, dead silent if you use a bean animal. All I can hear is water spilling over the wier, louder for me cause I have waves in the tank. If you dont have a standing wave its very quiet. Fittings are from home depot, 90° street fittings. You will need 2 street elbows and 2 regular elbows. Here are some more pics of the plumbing laid out and in the overflow. Also a video of my reef, watch it and listen there is a part where you can hear the wave spilling into the overflow. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Charlot...G-x-S-Street-Elbow-PVC-02304-0800HD/203822497
Big BUMP!
I started a thread on this topic before finding this thread oops.
The waterline appears like it is going to be below the trim. The box will sit to far down in the tank. I do not want to see the waterline.
@ca1ore I am thinking of removing the small section of the trim (the internal lip) on the tank so the box will sit higher. Did this work for you? Did that affect the integrity of the tank?
Sorry for the 2 year late reply but better late than never. Gate valve is on the far left drain in the pic, it does not matter which one has the gate valve and it depends on how your plumbing needs to setup. Middle drain is a little higher than the left main drain and has a hole in the top prevent full syphon on that drain, not really needed but I did the small hole anyways. You only want a full syphon on the main drain.Which has the gate valve on it, the left or the center? How much space is there between the elbow and the bottom of the clear box, what about the center fitting? Looks like it’s a little higher than the left one. Also looks like there’s a hole drilled in the top of the center fitting, but none on the left? Is that correct, why?
Thanks!
