The DC controller is something I really wanted. I have a reef octopus int110 on my 75 now. It does excellent but the footprint... Takes up a lot of room
I’ve got the luxury of time to pick the best options. The tank won’t go up for a while and the things I have work great. But it’s mostly ac so I’m really looking forward to seeing the difference between ac and dc equipment

Any equipment I buy in the future will be DC, there's just too many pros. I've updated almost all of my equipment so far. Adjustability, heat reduction, power savings.

Only time I see AC has an advantage is overall HP, if you need to move a ton of water, head pressure and height.

I got my IOAOI skimmer today. I don't think it's large enough for the 75, maybe if you have a drain line hooked up or a very light bioload.

I've put it on the 40 even though I have a large refugium. Going to give it a few weeks to see how it works out.

How do you like yours @tbrown
Mine was great until the urchin ate the cable. I ran mine 8 hours a day. Every 4 hours for 2 hours... Or something like that. Maybe it was every 4.5 hours for 1.5 hours because I think it was actually only 6 hours total.

How's the printing going?
It's not. I print things here and there but the stupid printer doesn't print good. I have an idea that "should" work and just go back to default and then micro adjust, just been to busy/lazy/etc and haven't taken the time.

I think I need to put my z-offset back to 0, THEN level the bed, then adjust the z-offset.

I'm going to get a C-Clamp from the garage and adjust it, clamp it to the middle front, then middle back to ensure I've got all 4 corners as close to equal as possible, run the auto level, adjust the z-offset and go from there. I feel like I did too much tweaking at the beginning and need to go back to the beginning and start fresh.

Sometimes it's best for a zero reset. I know I tweak and tweak things sometimes and it's best to reset and start over.

When you do, make sure the for corners are lower than the center, so you know they are tight.

Look up bed tramming if you haven't already. I use klipper, but I believe there's a way for a standard ender 3 to do it also.

My threads have a lot of 3D gurus. I think there's 7 or 8 of us over here that print

So, I think it was @felda001 that gave me this idea(?) but, hear me out:
IMG_20240811_155105759.jpg

16"*8.5"*8.5" in this chamber plus the 16"*10"*8.5" in the filter socks chamber. I'm thinking - put the Noopsyche mini in the sump and run opposite lighting schedule from the DT. Move the Nems and rock (and maybe the sand...) from the Tenecor Pico.

It would give the Nems about double the space they currently have, it would be better for water temperature control and parameter stability. It'd basically be a Fuge using Nems and I could plant some Macros in there as well. Might be kinda cool?

I don't know if I gave you the idea but it's similar to my plans for the refuge area of my sump. No nems but probably corals and if I can find a nice mantis

Maybe add something to prevent anemones from finding their way to the return pump.

I transferred the 3 larger Anemones from the Pico to the sump yesterday. They're all looking much happier already!

Anemone Crab and the Baby Anemone dripping currently.

Ugly pics but the Nems are happier in their new home.

So now the real question (and I already know the answer): sand for Macros?

Obviously the answer is YES!
