Not even close. Slimeball is similar to a Spongodes except it branches and rarely encrusts. Fatter branches, paddles instead of tips. The Thing is thinner branches more yellowish skin. Both have purple polyps but the Slimeball polyps almost look brown because they're so dark. Are the Slimeball and The Thing, similar in looks once they grow out? Do you prefer one for a particular reason?

I think we can make that happen.I'd like a Spongodes which is VERY similar to the Slimeball but more plating and encrusting.
Not my picture:
Did you get a Spongodes? Most people that think they have Spongodes end up actually having Slimeballs. I think Jason's might be a Spongodes though?I think we can make that happen.
Sure looks more like a Spongodes growth pattern. What do you think? I don't know but it's flat and plating?
Gel Super glue, that's why it looks ugly. Eventually it'll encrust over the glob and won't be noticable. What did you use to attach your monti cap?
Whatever it is, it’s beautiful ~ those blue edges…. And I want one! What do you think? I don't know but it's flat and plating?
I believe they're more purple in real life.Whatever it is, it’s beautiful ~ those blue edges…. And I want one!
