*Update*

Power supply found to be burned. Smells really bad.

Wondering now how this could have happened and why

To each their own but GFCI is not a good idea when life support is involved. GFCI is highly susceptible to common radio frequently interference. Nuisance GFCI trips are very common and almost encouraged. Do the research and choose the right option for yourself.
Modern GFCIs are pretty reliable. I would not put my tank on a GFCI breaker (single point of failure). Multiple GFCIs, one per critical piece of equipment in a DIY power box are a decent option, but outside the scope of most peoples skills.

Looks like salt creep shorted out the IEC plug as there is an arc burn from hot to neutral….but could also just be a bad power supply that went to ground and caused an arc there.

That plug is not on a GFCI

House was built 2017 , no GFCI on this living room wall. Only in restrooms , kitchen , laundry etc

it popped the circuit breaker
You got a short somewhere.
If you not have a reasonable knowledge with electricity then get an electrician.
You can unplug everything and have a long extension cord from a GFCI outlet and plug in one device at a time until you find the problem device.
Fix and replace the device
You may have salt creep that got to your outlet and short the outlet rather than equipment that short the outlet
Having an outlet behind the sump and not accessible and not GFCI and salt water is a Huge NO NO. House get burn down that way.
Good luck.
With electricity if you don’t know, don’t do it. It can kill you. I don’t know how competent you are so it is really hard to give advices.

Sorry I am a day late and a dollar short. I am glad you got things figured out.

Had a incident where a bathroom gfi kept tripping when not in use. Eventually we saw it happen. The long haired cat would jump up on the counter and when it brushed against the gfi it would pop. One more reason to have dogs vs cats :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

It got wet.

You have 1,000 watts of lighting? Throw out those lights and get LEDs. Your electric bill must be enormous. :anguished-face:

You don't need an electrician. Just throw out that piece of equipment or have someone who knows what they are doing replace the plug on it.

**Update**

Just right now everything shut off that was hooked up to the new surge protector connected to a different room now and it tripped the breaker now to that room .

I’m using my old surge now to see if this trips as well. If it does then I might take every outlet off and do the process of elimination View attachment 3065585
This appears not to be a surge protector, rather and 8 outlet power strip. Prolly has nothing to do with your issue, but if you are wanting surge protection, it appears this is not giving it to you.

I am just pointing out that the strip plug in the pic looks to be NOT a surge protector.
