Masstick was the first feed we developed for fish feeding, it is a mixture of diverse, all-natural, self-produced and highly technical compounds, which provides a natural and balanced nutrition for omnivorous fish and marine invertebrates.

As mentioned in our previous article, Get to know us better!, all raw materials are harvested by ourselves, in an artisanal and sustainable way.

We only use ingredients of marine origin, but we do not add fish meal, which guarantees lower levels of phosphate and we do not add palatability enhancers, preservatives or synthetic products in any of our feeds.

The main ingredient is a species of shrimp (Palaemonetes varians), it is produced in estuaries of the Doñana Natural Park, known as Veta la Palma , as mentioned before it is harvested with artisanal fishing methods, I leave a short video.

At Veta la Palma itself, after harvesting the shrimp, it is freeze-dried by cryodehydration, which has great advantages over other techniques.

The advantages are the following:

  • The raw material does not suffer thermal damage and retains aromas, as it is kept at low temperature.
  • It remains very porous as the ice sublimates leaving voids in its place, the water added during rehydration occupies the same places as the original water.
Its main disadvantage is the cost, but it guarantees the preservation of the raw materials and organoleptic properties of the bioactives we use without damage.

Masstick is well known for naturally attracting finicky fish that begin eating immediately or shortly after adding it to the aquarium.

To complement nutritionally we add some of our microalgae, Isochrysis galbana, Tetraselmis chuii, Nannochloropsis gaditana, Phaeodactylum tricornutum and two macroalgae Ulva and Chondrus which gives Masstick a complete nutritional profile (amino acids, fatty acids and vitamins).

Masstick comes as a fine powder, add 2 parts of RO or distilled water for each part of Masstick, seal the zip bag containing it and amalgamate. Its purpose is to turn it into a firm paste.

Preparation tutorial:

Due to its binding capability, it allows you to add the ingredients of your choice, antiparasitic or different specific complements to treat occasional health problems of your fish…

We have recently launched Easymasstick, as Masstick it is a complete feed with functional characteristics that make it a superfood conceived from a holistic perspective that contemplates the needs of: nutrition, development of the immune system, reproductive capacity, behavior and reduction of stress due to food competition.

We use the same ingredients and techniques mentioned above.

To add it to the aquarium simply take the necessary amount, gently knead it into a ball and stick it to the glass, stone or decoration. This type of feeding allows you to observe natural feeding behaviors, browsing on the rock, or the possibility of interacting with your fish to take impressive pictures while feeding.

Masstick or Easymasstick does not require any additional supplementation to maintain the optimum health status of the animals for which it is intended.

Any idea on when your EasySPS gel food in 1500ml bags will back in stock in the US? I love it and use it on all my tanks but it’s been unavailable for a very, very long time…

I tried the stuff in my reef a few weeks ago and the fish do love it. I normally feed fresh or live food but for people who don't do that, I really like the stuff, and I don't like much. :)
